WCOOP logoThe weekend brought huge paydays to a number of players in the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), but none walked away with more than Sumpas, who took down the $10,000 High-Roller event for $611,455. That score eclipsed his previous high, when he banked $415,150 with a sixth-place finish in the 2008 WCOOP Main Event.

Sumpas, an unknown player from Linkoping, Sweden, defeated a stacked final table that included WPT Champion Kevin Saul, professionals Mike Sowers and Scott Freeman and European Poker Tour founder John Duthie.

With his second-place finish in event no. 8, Jonathan “xxjondxx” Delong moved into the top five of the Card Player Online Player of the Year# race. He lost to notable online pro Kevin “iacog4” Iacofano.
