Richard Toth wins World Poker Tour SlovakiaHungarian Richard Toth won the World Poker Tour Slovakia last week, topping the field of 100 players — the smallest in World Poker Tour history, taking the dubious honour from season one’s Legends of Poker which attracted 134 players.

Toth faced stiff competition at the final table of the $4,000 buy in event from World Series of Poker 2009 bracelet winner and European Poker Tour Monte Carlo finalist Peter Traply and recent WSOP $40,000 Anniversary event finalist Alec Torelli.

The final table was made up of (with chip counts):

Seat 1: Alec Torelli — 1,064,000
Seat 2: Richard Toth — 781,000
Seat 3: Boris Zelený — 469,000
Seat 4: Saŝa Stenčič — 439,000
Seat 5: Marec Tatar — 160,000
Seat 6: Peter Traply — 63,000

Chip leader at the start of play, Torelli faded rather rapidly and exited in fourth and it was Toth who showed the most steel, going on to lift the top prize of €104,000.

The final table payouts were:
1: Richard Toth — €104,000
2: Boris Zelený — €66,000
3: Saŝa Stenčič — €42,000
4: Alec Torelli — €31,000
5: Peter Traply — €25,000
6: Marec Tatar — €20,000

The World Poker Tour recently entered into an agreement with PartyGaming which plans to purchase the once mighty tour for just over €12 million.

WPT Cyprus is currently underway, attracting 181 players. This compares to 479 at European Poker Tour Barcelona which is currently down to 24 players in the Catalan capital.
