Online Poker -- George Danzer Wins WCOOP BraceletAaron Bartley Makes Second Final Table of the Series |
|
For the first time this year, PokerStars can now claim one of their own as a World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) winner. In one of the biggest events of the series, Team PokerStars Pro member George Danzer topped a stacked field of nearly a thousand to win event No. 19, a short-handed pot-limit Omaha rebuy tournament.
The victory allowed Danzer to bank $109,545, which is the biggest score of his young career. The German beat out a final table that included the likes of Shawn “buck21” Buchanan and Kevin “parksy1066” Parkes. On the final hand, Danzer flopped middle set and found himself in great shape against his opponent’s bottom set. The one-outer never came, and Danzer earned himself the bracelet.
Also making headlines was Aaron “GambleAB” Bartley, who final-tabled event No. 20, a 2-7 triple-draw event. This was the second lowball event of the series and coincidentally Bartley’s second lowball final table of the series, having finished seventh in event No. 4.
