The original winner-take-all six-player $20,000 buy-in is back after two weeks of high-stakes cash games on Poker After Dark, and the biggest names in poker have assembled to duke it out for the $120,000 first-place prize.
Taking to the felt this week are Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson, Howard Lederer, Phil Hellmuth, and Doyle Brunson. The impressive lineup is appropriately dubbed, “The Magnificent Six.”
This group of players has collectively won 39 World Series of Poker bracelets, pending Ivey’s finish at the 2009 main-event final table in November of course, and has accrued a total of more than $53 million in tournament winnings. Hellmuth, Ivey, and Negreanu are in the top five all-time money winners.
All six players have their fair share of Poker After Dark appearances. Brunson, Ferguson, and Negreanu all have a record of 1-7. Lederer’s record is 2-3, Ivey’s is 2-5, and Hellmuth’s is 3-10.
The show will air weeknights at 2:05 a.m. on NBC, with a special “Director’s Cut” edition aired after Saturday Night Live at 1 a.m.
