Casino de Namur is set to host the sixth annual Belgium Open Poker Championships from Nov. 21 to 29 with up to 1,000 players expected for the €1,500 + €200 buy-in main event.
This year also sees the introduction of a €10,000 + €500 heads up team event to the busy schedule.
Last year 843 players from the likes of the U.S., Venezuela, the Ukraine, Canada, and Great Britain took part in the main event which was won by Dutch player Sijbrand Maal who pocketed €315,875 for topping the field.
This year the eight day festival takes in seven events to suit all pockets. The schedule is:
Nov 21, 22, 23, 24: no-limit hold’em championship main event (plus satellites)
Nov 23 event 1: no-limit hold’em heads up team event — €10,000+500
Nov 26 event 2: no-limit hold’em — €200+10 freezeout
Nov 27/28 event 3: no-limit hold’em — €1,000+50 freezeout (plus satellites Nov 25/26)
Nov 28/29 event 4: no-limit hold’em — €500+25
Nov 29: event 5: no-limit hold’em bounty — €150+10 freezeout
Nov 29: event 6: no-limit hold’em ladies event — €100+10 freezeout
The main event sees four starting days and two day two’s before playing out on day three, four, and five.
Casinos de Namur and Spa are currently running regular €50 + €10 unlimited rebuy satellites for the main event — every Tuesday and Saturdays at 20:00 (CET) and Sundays at 15:00 (CET) at Casino de Namur and Thursday at 20:00 (CET) at its sister Spa Casino.
The vent will be streamed live on the web and recorded for international TV broadcast. Players can wear sponsorship logos and a wide range of cash games will be available each day during the festival.
