Tonight at 9 p.m. ET, a new episode of the World Series of Poker main event will premiere on ESPN with only 64 players of the 6,494 who started, and among those still in contention are some of the games biggest stars.
Seven-time bracelet winner Phil Ivey and Antonio Esfandiari will begin at the feature table. On table two, ESPN will follow the storyline of the last woman standing, Leo Margets of Spain. She’s competing in her first WSOP main event and has the opportunity of becoming the first woman since 1995 to make the championship final table.
Every remaining contender has their eyes on the top prize of $8.5 million. By the end of the two, one-hour episodes tonight, only 27 players will be left standing. The Card Player reporting team was at the Rio this summer, documenting each step along the way to the final table, so for more detailed results, find the live updates on the WSOP landing page by clicking on the tournaments tab [Warning: Contains spoilers].
