The World Heads-Up Poker Championship kicks off tomorrow, and although it is in its ninth year, it is making its debut in London. The event will be streamed live online and recorded for TV broadcast. It sees a buy-in of £3,000 + £250 (plus £50 for food and drink) but there is a cheaper way to get there.
Tonight there will be a £350 + £35 buy-in super satellite which is capped at 100 players. Littlewoods Poker have added one seat to the super satellite ensuring one more player the chance to take a shot at winning a ticket into the all-important main event (which is worth more than nine times the buy-in for the satellite).
The World Heads-Up Poker Championship Super Satellite kicks off at 7 p.m. (local time) at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino in London. Players will sit down to a starting stack of 7,000 in chips with 25-minute blinds.
The draw for the World Heads Up Poker Championship will take place prior to the start of the first round of matches which should begin at 12 p.m. tomorrow. Players must buy in before the first draw.
A bundle of side events will also run throughout the week starting at 7.45 p.m. each evening. Tomorrow there is a two-day, £200 buy-in, no-limit hold’em rebuy event. This is followed by a £500 freezeout on Wednesday which will run for two days, as will the £750 freezeout on Thursday.
Friday sees a £200 pot-limit Omaha rebuy event, and the side events will then conclude on Saturday with a £350 no-limit hold’em freezeout super satellite to the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Grand Final.
