The PokerStars.com Asia Pacific Poker Tour Cebu, currently running in the Philippines, has attracted 319 players to the main event, topping last year’s field of 285 players.
The PHP100,000 (€1,429) buy-in main event, which got underway yesterday and busted the cap of 300 the organisers had placed on the event. Players travelled from 36 countries to participate in the event including Mongolia, the UK, and Russia.
As a result the prize pool has swelled to PHP 29,086,420 (€415,517) as 214 players return to the felt today to chase the business end of the tournament.
Among those remaining are Daniel Schreiber (pictured), winner of a World Series of Poker heads-bracelet in 2007 and PokerStars Team Asia Pro player Raymond Wu.
Last year the event, held in Manila, was won by Australian Van Marcus.
