Cake PokerMuch like anti-lock brakes on a car, synchronized breaks are quickly becoming a standardized feature for many of the top online sites on the market. Today at 10 a.m. ET, Cake Poker officially launched the new software update allowing players to take their breaks at 55 minutes past the hour for nearly every multi-table tournament on the site.

Cake joins other sites — such as PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, Absolute Poker, and UltimateBet — in upgrading to the new break procedure. In addition, all of the previously mentioned sites break at the same time, allowing the true multi-table tournament grinder five minutes rest per hour, regardless of how many sites he decides to play on.

Unlike some sites, however, Cake Poker will allow the break to coincide with tournaments in late registration, tournaments within the first level, and turbo tournaments within the first two levels of play. The only exclusion for synchronized breaks will be sit-and-go tournaments with fewer than 30 players.
