Final Qualification for Belgium Poker Championships

Big Names Sign Up as Online Qualifiaction for BPC Nears End

Last year's winner of the Belgium Open Poker Championship Sijbrand MaalOnline qualification for the sixth annual €1,500 + €200 buy-in Belgium Open Poker Championships (BOPC) being held in Casino de Namur in Belgium from Nov. 21 to 29 is drawing to a close with two chances left to qualify on PokerStars.com.

Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. (WET) sees a $25 + $2 buy-in satellite with $1,000 added with one online final seat up for grabs for every $215 in its prize pool.

The online final takes place on Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. (WET) with one Belgium Open package for every $4,500 in its prize pool. Two extra seats have been added by PokerStars.com and these tournaments can be found in the “Events” section of the PokerStars lobby, under “Special”.

The BOPC main event will play out over nine days (including four starting days, and two day 2’s), and will be streamed live on the Internet and filmed for broadcast.

Some of European poker’s biggest names will be playing including Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Arnaud Mattern, Johnny Lodden, Noah Boeken, Marcel Luske, Pieter De Korver, Thierry Van Den Berg, plus PokerStars sponsored players Adam Lounis, Kool Shen, Julien Lang Van, Jose Da Silva, and Yohann Azoulay.

Other well known faces in attendance will be Surinder Sunar, Ludovic Lacay, Davidi Kitai, Marc Naalden, Aurelien Guiglin, Guillaume De La Gorce, and Michel Abecassis will also be in attendance.

Nov. 18: €50 buy-in rebuy at 8 p.m.
Nov. 20: €50 buy-in rebuy at 8 p.m.
Nov. 21: €100 buy-in rebuy at 2.30 p.m.
Nov. 21: €100 buy-in rebuy at 8 p.m.
Nov. 22: €50 buy-in rebuy at 2.30 p.m.
Nov. 22: €210 buy-in freezeout at 8 p.m.
Nov. 23: €100 buy-in rebuy at 2.30 p.m.

Attracting players this year also is a new addition to the schedule – the €10,000 + €500 buy-in (per team of four) heads-up team event. This will be played across three days (including day 1A and 1B) starting on Nov. 23. There will also be many side events.

The main event winner last year was Sijbrand Maal (pictured). The Dutchman beat 842 others to the top prize of €315,875.
