World Poker Tour Enterprises Hires Financial Advisor

Company Will Work to Increase WPT's Online Poker Room's Presence

World Poker Tour Enterprises (WPTE) has hired Thomas Weisel Partners as its financial advisor to assist the company in exploring strategic business alternatives, including it possible merger or sale.

The company will not disclose developments of a sale unless the board of directors have approved it. The company warned shareholders that the hiring of the financial advisors does not assure them a sale or merger will take place.

Thomas Weisel Partners also will try to boost WPTE's stock by developing a strategy that will make the online gaming part of WPTE's business more profitable by increasing its visibility.

The company will have to do that in Europe and beyond because currently, WPTE's online poker room isn't accessible to players living in the United States.
