Bubble Bursts in Galway as Field Reduced to 36 Chasing €125,000

Card Player writer Padraig ParkinsonThe Irish Poker Championship main event, the first stop on PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour, saw its field squeezed to just 36 players during day 2 at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Galway, Ireland.

The €2,000 buy in event saw players such as Jude Ainsworth, J.P. Kelly, and Kieran Walsh knocked out as players edged towards the €125,000 top prize.

Play stopped when participant number 37 was knocked out on the bubble — Aidan Connelly suffered a three-outer defeat by John Duthie when an Ace fell on the river vaulting Duthie’s A-Q ahead of Connolly’s K-K.
