PokerStars.com will tonight attempt to set the world record for the largest ever online poker tournament. It hopes to attract more than the 65,000 players it attracted in July 2009 to the $1 buy-in tournament taking place at 14:45 p.m. ET (19:45 p.m. GMT) on Sunday Dec. 27.
The tournament will have a $300,000 guaranteed prize pool and can be found in the PokerStars lobby under the Tourney and Special tabs.
Players can also qualify for the event for micro-stakes at the site. Simply search for the word Record in the tourney filter at the site.
