Annette ObrestadTeam Americas and Team Europe went head to head this summer in the first-ever Caesars Cup, and this Sunday at 11 p.m., the World Series of Poker Europe is returning to ESPN2, beginning with coverage of this event.

This unique eight-player-per-team format began with captains of each respective team, Daniel Negreanu for Team Americas and Annette Obrestad for Team Europe, recruiting their ringers. Among those chosen for Negreanu’s team are Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, and Doyle Brunson, and for Obrestad’s team, Peter Eastgate, Patrik Antonius, and Bertrand Grospellier were included. Players will competeDaniel Negreanu in a doubles format, meaning that a team of two players make alternate bets playing preflop, the flop, the turn, and the river. Though all players featured are highly talented in their own right, they all have different styles and approaches to the game, making joint decision-making in one hand a difficult feat.

Lon McEachern and Normal Chad will commentate with Kara Scott providing sideline reporting. The WSOPE main event will begin airing on Feb. 7 at 10 p.m. on ESPN2.
