David UlliottDevilfishPoker.com has announced that its poker ambassador Dave “Devilfish” Ulliott is gearing up to defend his Euro Finals of Poker title at the Aviation Club de Paris this week.

The €5,000 buy-in Diamond Championship title holder says, “I’m really looking forward to defending my title there after a nice break in the sun and going deep at EMOP Gran Canaria. Like last year my poker is just getting warmed up and if I get the chance to steamroll the field like I did in 2009 you can be sure I’ll take it down.”

Ulliott beat 151 others to the €152,000 top prize in the no-limit hold’em event last year. He returns to Paris from Gran Canaria, where he took down his first cash of 2010 in the European Masters of Poker, and then spent some time there working on his autobiography.

With French sweeping the early events of the Euro Finals, this theme has continued in recent results:

$359 buy-in no-limit hold’em Seniors: Michel Riou – $4,338
$215 buy-in no-limit hold’em Ladies: Sabrina Derdar – $3,403
$718 buy-in no-limit hold’em Bronze Championship: Richard Amar – $27,864

While Ulliott looks forward to breaking the French reign, DevilfishPoker.com prepares for a feeding frenzy with EMOP Lisbon approaching on the poker calendar. The main event begins on Mar. 25 and runs for four days at the Casino Estoril in Lisbon, Portugal. It has a buy-in of €1,100 but players can qualify at DevilfishPoker.com for just €2 or 200 VIP points.

Alternatively, the site will soon begin freerolls every second day from Feb. 10 to Feb. 28. The winner of each will get a package worth €1,450. There are 10 of these packages on offer also in the site’s EMOP Challenge at the end of the month. The players who top the charts across three tournaments will get the packages.
