Lauren Kling didn’t just learn poker while attending UC Berkeley, she actually taught it. In fact, the 24-year-old also threw a little blackjack into the mix, as well, while teaching the class for her studies in industrial engineering and business administration.

The Orlando native began to consider poker as a career after graduation, and she made a string of live cashes, including a third-place finish at a WSOP Circuit side event at Caesars Palace.

She then went deep in the WSOP ladies event, finishing 23rd out of 1,060 entrants. Kling proceeded to turn her attention online, where she plays as “SUPERMODL” and “locoenlacabeza.”

After final-tabling the FTOPS XIII main event and a Sunday Mulligan, she took third in the $1K Monday to start her 2010 campaign off strong.

Then the largest score of her career came when she finished runner-up in the UB Online Championship (UBOC) main event for $163,244. That stretch of success had Kling in the top 10 of the Online Player of the Year race when she joined Card Player TV in the Online Zone.
