The 2010 Winnin’ O the Green tournament poker series is underway at the Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, California (pictured right). So far winners have been crowned in 15 events (see below) at the series that features 25 events in all and has been running since March 1. Everything is leading up to the $500 no-limit hold’em championship event that features a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool.
The no-limit hold’em championship begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 19. Day 2 will run on Saturday, Mar. 20 and the championship final will take place on Sunday, Mar. 21 at the Bicycle Casino event center. Players have a number of options if they would like to satellite their way into the event. Here is a look at the satellite schedule for the championship event:
Saturday, Mar. 13: $55 mega satellite at 2 p.m.
Wednesday, Mar. 17: $55 mega satellite at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Thursday, Mar. 18: $55 mega satellite at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Friday, Mar. 19: $55 mega satellite at 2 p.m.
Highlights from the preliminary events so far include big turnouts for the guaranteed prize pool events. The largest was a $200 no-limit hold’em event with a guaranteed prize pool worth $150,000. A total of 1,082 players entered the event and the winner was Sam Simon, who took home $57,308.
There are four more guaranteed prize pool tournaments remaining on the schedule. There is a $300 no-limit hold’em event with a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool that begins tonight at 7 p.m. There is also a $50 no-limit hold’em turbo event with a $15,000 guaranteed prize pool on Monday, Mar. 15, and a $150 no-limit hold’em event with a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool on Tuesday, Mar. 16. As mentioned before, the $500 no-limit hold’em championship also feature a guaranteed prize pool worth $250,000.
