The greatest online tournament player in the world has just found a home with DoylesRoom as the newest member of the Brunson 10.
In 2008, Steve “gboro780” Gross finished runner-up in Card Player’s Online Player of the Year race to Alex “AJKHoosier1” Kamberis. In 2009, he finished atop the leader board to lock in OPOY honors. In 2010, he is leading the way and is once again a strong contender to win it all.
In his very short career, the 24-year-old from Marlboro, New Jersey has earned nearly $3 million in online poker tournaments. He has also added nearly $400,000 in live poker tournaments, most recently with a $135,970 win at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.
Gross becomes the sixth member of the Brunson 10, a group of young, elite poker players hand-picked by poker legend Doyle Brunson. “Steve’s record speaks for itself,” said Brunson. “Player of the year in 2009, on his way to another one this year, the kid is unbelievable.”
Gross isn’t the only Card Player OPOY winner to receive a sponsorship. 2008 winner Kamberis became the fifth member last month, joining the likes of Zachary “Crazy Zachary” Clark, Amit “amak316” Makhija, Chris “Moorman1” Moorman, and Dani “ansky” Stern.
