Wynn Poker Classic Championship -- Day 2Brandon Cantu Leads Final 28 Players |
|
After day 2 of the Wynn Poker Classic Championship, the players still are not in the money. The final 125 players returned to the poker room at the Wynn to play down to the final table of nine, but the structure was so slow and the players so deep-stacked that tournament officials were forced to stop play for the evening with 28 remaining, just four shy of the money.
When the players bagged and tagged their chips for the evening, it was discovered that Brandon Cantu was the far-and-away chip leader with 727,000. His next-closest competitor, Melik Bagdasaryan, has 445,000 in chips.
Other notables remaining in the field include Oddie Dardon (373,000), Justin Bonomo (218,600), Mark Ketteringham (190,000), Erick Lindgren (135,200), Andy Seth (101,400), Dennis Phillips (97,700), and Tony Korfman (84,000).
Last year’s champion, Keith “DaMurdera” Ferrera, is also still in with 205,500 in chips, good for 11th place overall.
The tournament is scheduled to conclude today (Wednesday), but don’t be surprised to see the bulk of the final table return on Thursday to crown a champion and see who gets the $363,844 first-place prize.
