EPT Grand Final High Roller Event Leads to a lot of Leader Board Movement
The biggest ramifications in the POY race this week took place on May 1 at the EPT Grand Final €25,000 no-limit hold’em high roller event. Both the current POY runner-up Sorel Mizzi and leader Thomas Marchese made the final table in Monte Carlo from a field of 113 players. Mizzi busted in sixth place and took home 264 points along with $190,905 to increase his 2010 total to 3,542. Marchese finished a few spots higher in fourth place, and he took home $350,125 and 396 points to increase his lead to a total of 3,902 points. So while Marchese distanced himself from Mizzi, they both ran ahead of the field by hundreds of points.
