Entraction, the Swedish publicly-quoted online poker network, yesterday said its net sales for poker fell 25 percent to SEK63.3 million (€6.5 million) in the first quarter of 2010 from SEK84.4 million (€8.7 million) a year previously.
Poker gaming surplus was also down 25 percent to SEK91.4 million (€9.4 million) from SEK122.3 million (€12.6 million) a year earlier.
A statement from the company said, “The number of active players continues to increase despite a tougher competition in the poker market as poker sites still accepting US players, and thereby operating in a legal grey zone, are gaining market share. Entraction has an advantage in being a supplier as we can sign agreements with new operators and relatively quickly increase player volume.”
Entraction saw poker revenue rise 34 percent in 2009.
