The Potawatomi Bingo Casino will host its 2010 Keeper of the Fire Poker Challenge this August, with an additional $15,000 provided by the house on top of the prize pool if at least 300 players register.
The spacious 20-table poker room will host three different starting days for the event — Aug. 14, Aug. 15, and Aug. 21, each beginning at 10 a.m. There will be a 150-player max field for each day.
Play will be suspended each day once the field gets down to 40 players, and the remaining field will return Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. to play until a winner is determined.
Guests may buy into the event for up to $550, but the more they play in the cash games at the casino up until July 31, the less they will have to pay.
Any player who logs 100-199 hours will only have to pay $450, and the cost goes down from there. If you play 200-299 hours, the buy-in is $350; if you play 300-399 hours, the buy-in is $250; if you play 400-499 hours, the buy-in is $150; if you play 500-599 hours; the buy-in is just $50.
And if you play a whopping 600 hours of live poker in the casino before the first day of August, you can enter the event for free.
The tournament will have 30-minute levels with all players beginning with 10,000 in chips. Blinds will start at 25-50.
