Twenty-one of the world's top players representing 21 different countries will converge on the Palms Casino this weekend for the first installment of the Intercontinental Poker Championship.
The winner of the invitational-only no-limit event receives $500,000, a trophy, and international bragging rights for the year.
CBS Sports will present coverage of the event with eight weekend shows, to be broadcast starting Saturday, June 17, and continuing through Saturday, July 22, as part of its "CBS Sports Spectacular" programming lineup. The Intercontinental Poker Championship is presented by PartyPoker.com.
Players who will be playing at the Palms this weekend include Lebanon's Sammy Farha, England's Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott, Toronto native Daniel Negreanu, Costa Rican Humberto Brenes, and China's Johnny Chan.
Doyle Brunson is representing the United States.
