France Issues First Tranche of Online Gaming LicencesEverest Poker and Betclic among First 11 Licencees With Party Poker and PokerStars Still Under Consideration |

France has stuck to its plan and issued the first tranche of online gaming licences ahead of the start of the World Cup on Friday.
Reuters newsagency said the regulator authority ARJEL had received 35 applications of which 17 were retained. Of these 11 have been formally granted licences.
These are Francaise des Jeux, Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU), Iliad Gaming, Sajoo, Betclic, Beturf, BES SAS (bwin subsidiary), Everest Gaming, France Pari, SPS Betting France and Table 14.
Still under consideration for a licence is PokerStars.
The new licencees are expected to have their online poker sites operational in the near future.
