Melbourne thief gets four month jail term for stealing poker pro's carA hapless car thief in Melbourne, Australia has received a four month jail sentence for stealing a AUS$355,000 red Ferrari car belonging to poker pro Van Marcus from the Crown Casino in the city.

However, 32-year-old Adam Ramsey is already on a 35-month stint in prison for his involvement in a credit card fraud and the judge imposed the four-month sentence to run concurrently so Ramsey will not spend any extra time locked up for the offence.

The thief used his own name and AUS$30 to get the car from a valet at the casino around 1:30 a.m. before joyriding around and being caught at a gas station filling the car with petrol several hours later.

Ramsey’s lawyer told the court the act had been spontaneous and was “dumb”. The defendant had wanted to see his children and had some time to kill as it was the middle of the night so he spent it driving the conspicuous motor around before he was captured.
