Eric BuchmanThe Borgata Hotel, Casino, and Spa will host a charity poker event on Aug. 15 at 1 p.m. with Cabot Creamery Cooperative to raise funds and awareness for the Southern Branch of the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.

Several poker pros are expected to be in attendance, including former November Niner Eric Buchman and ESPN poker pro Bernard Lee. Last year, Card Player columnist Roy Winston entered — and won — the event.

The charity tournament features a deep-stack, turbo format with 25,000 in chips and 15-minute levels. It costs $260 (+ $40) to play.

Besides the regular prize pool, there will be a Borgata Poker Open seat awarded to the winner, valued at $3,500.

This is the second straight year the “Put a Bad Beat on Hunger” charity poker tournament has been held at the Borgata.
