Poker Revenue Declines at Unibet After Strong First Quarter Results

Unibet poker declines in first half of 2010Unibet Holdings today issued its interim report for the first six months of 2010.

In the first six months of 2010 gross winnings revenue from poker fell 2.4 percent to £11.8 million from £12.1 million in the same period of 2009.

Gross winnings revenue in the second quarter of 2010 fell 12.7 percent to £4.7 million from £5.4 million in the same period of 2009.

The company saw poker revenues rise 6.5 percent in the first quarter of 2010 compared to a year earlier.

As a percentage of overall gross winnings revenue poker now represents 12 percent compared to 18 percent in the second quarter of 2010.

The company has signed a deal with Ongame to enter the recently regulated and licenced French market later this year.

The company said, “poker…continued to face competitive pressures.”
