Unibet plc, the Swedish online gaming operator based in Malta, today announced it had purchased 45 percent of Bonza Gaming.

Bonza Gaming was one of the first companies to launch real money gaming on Facebook when it opened its first slot at the social networking site earlier this year.

Bonza holds an Alderney gambling license and Unibet confirmed it was paying a nominal price of just £100 for shares in the company, acquired from Social Gaming (Channel Islands) Limited, but would provide a £2 million loan facility to Bonza of which £500,000 is expected to be drawn down upon completion of the deal.

The rest of Bonza Gaming is owned by Plumbee Limited, described as a “entrepreneurial social gaming business”.

Eaarlier this month 888 launched Facebook’s first real money casino, MAGIC888.
