Day 1B at the World Poker Tour Legends of Poker $5,000 no-limit hold’em main event began at 1 p.m on Saturday, August 21. A total of 276 players joined the action on the second flight offered and at the end of the night 151 remained. Vinnie Vinh is the overnight chip leader with 180,000.
The official number of entries in the tournament was 462 players this year and the total prize pool is $2,151,072. The top 45 spots will walk away with at least $10,200. Here is the break down:

Notable professionals that hit the rail during the day included Daniel Negreanu, Eric Baldwin, John Phan, Isaac Baron, Isaac Haxton, Daniel Alaei, Brandon Cantu, David Plastik, David Chiu, Scott Seiver, Lee Markholt, Matt Stout, defending champion Prahlad Friedman, and Kathy Liebert, who was honored today as the second player to participate in 100 WPT events.
Many professionals have survived to day 2 which will take place on Sunday. They include J.C. Alvarado, Jeff Madsen, Ryan Young, Steve Gross, Ted Lawson, David Oppenheim, Jonathan Little, Jamie Rosen, Erica Schoenberg, Chad Batista, Tim West, Steve O’Dwyer, Joe Hachem, Erick Lindgren, Scott Clements, Amit Makhija, Adam Levy, David Sands, Frank Kassela, Shawn Buchanan, Jared Hamby, and Jennifer Tilly. Some of the familiar faces that advanced did so with big chip stacks. Shane Schleger (78,800), Allen Cunningham (76,500), Thomas Marchese (76,350), J.J. Liu (70,700), and Phil Hellmuth (66,850) finished very well, just missing the top 10 on the leader board.
