Andreas Krause Tops Small but Explosive Field in Cyprus

Andreas Krause is Merit Cyprus Classic ChampThe Full Tilt Poker Merit Cyprus Classic saw 181 players take part, and although it wasn’t a massive field, it was one of the toughest around.

Players such as David Benyamine, Chino Rheem, Sorel Mizzi and November Niners Michael Mizrachi and John Racener flooded the field, but it was German pro Andreas Krause who outlasted them all and took home the $415,780 top prize.

The six-handed televised final table featured Mathieu Clavet (940,000), Zsolt Vasvenszki (1,885,000), Ahmet Ucali (420,000), Hakan Dalokay (266,000), Van Marcus (1,436,000), and finally Andreas Krause (849,000).

It was Krause and Clavet who made it to the heads-up battle and after many swings back and forth Clavet’s AClub Suit 7Spade Suit was no good against Krause’s 5Spade Suit 5Club Suit as the board fell QSpade Suit 3Club Suit 3Spade Suit 3Diamond Suit 4Diamond Suit.
