The Borgata in Atlantic City was the place to be this weekend for tournament poker fans who probably couldn't afford to drop $10,000 on a World Poker Tour event but who think they could win one if they ever got the chance.

Chances were what the Borgata served at its Ultimate Weekend Poker Tournament, an eight-event series that concluded with a $1,100 supersatellite that gave six people entries into four major tournaments and $9,800 spending money.

On Sunday, May 7, six players left the Borgata with the $50,000 prize package, and two of those players won it for $250. Stephen Dobler and Shawn Reilly got into the $1,100 event by playing in the $250 qualifier the day before. They were two of 102 players who won $1,100 vouchers in one of the two qualifying events that took place on Friday and Saturday.

The Friday $130 qualifier attracted 438 players, and the Saturday $220 qualifier - where Dobler and Reilly won their seats - attracted 298 players. The Ultimate Super Satellite attracted 336 players.

Jason Fray, Miquel Javier, Feming Chan, and Shawn Charonas also won the $50,000 prize package. The six players received entries into the WPT's Mandalay Bay Poker Championship, Borgata Poker Open, and Foxwoods World Poker Finals and a seat at the World Series of Poker main event.

Michael Koegler, E. Walk Hellman, and Eric Bankoff won seats into the Borgata Poker Open, and Mike Fiumfreddo won $6,000 for finishing tenth.

Meanwhile, woven into the schedule of satellites were five cash tournaments, three with buy-ins of $340 and two others with heavier buy-ins: $560 and $810. The $810 ($750 + $60) tournament attracted 203 people and the $47,197 top prize was won by Randy Reeves.

The $560 ($500 +$60) tournament attracted 278 and was won by Carlos Delafuente, who took home $43,084. This event kicked off the "Ultimate Weekend" on Friday, May 5. The three $360 tourneys held throughout the weekend attracted 159, 171, and 125 players each.

There are no more "Ultimate Satellites" planned for the near future at the Borgata, as they are preparing to open a new poker room at the end of June. The new room will more than double the number of tables to 85 and will include a tournament room complete with bleachers. Keep an eye on CardPlayer.com for more details as they emerge.
