Turk Beats Irishman Heads Up to Take Irish Poker Classic Title

Kiyas Gungoren is Irish Poker Classic ChampionA Turkish man living in Waterford, Ireland, Kiyas Gungoren, is the champion of the eighth annual Irish Poker Classic at the Macau Sporting Club in Cork.

The €1,000 + €100 buy-in main event had a €100,000 guaranteed prize pool but this was surpassed by €23,000 and Gungoren took home the lion’s share with the first place prize of €26,250.

His heads-up opponent was last year’s Asia Pacific Poker Tour main event winner Dermot Blain. Blain received €26,250 for his second place finish in Cork.
