A Turkish man living in Waterford, Ireland, Kiyas Gungoren, is the champion of the eighth annual Irish Poker Classic at the Macau Sporting Club in Cork.
The €1,000 + €100 buy-in main event had a €100,000 guaranteed prize pool but this was surpassed by €23,000 and Gungoren took home the lion’s share with the first place prize of €26,250.
His heads-up opponent was last year’s Asia Pacific Poker Tour main event winner Dermot Blain. Blain received €26,250 for his second place finish in Cork.
