The 2010 Borgata Poker Open is underway at the Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. There are a total of 21 events offered during the tournament series.
The featured World Poker Tour Borgata Poker Open championship event will cap off the busy schedule of tournaments and it will be filmed from day 1 through the final table and televised on Fox Sports Net. The WPT event will run from Sept. 18-23. The championship event boasts a guaranteed $2 million prize pool with a buy-in of $3,500.
“The Borgata Poker Open provides an incredible opportunity for amateurs as well as poker pros to participate in a unique tournament series, unmatched anywhere on the East Coast,” said Senior Vice President of Operations, Joe Lupo. “With a $3,500 buy-in…anyone has the chance to take home the trophy, championship money and become a star.”
The tournament series will spread a wide variety of games, including no-limit hold’em; deep stack no-limit hold’em, Omaha, seniors and ladies no-limit hold’em, and a heads-up double elimination event.
Last year’s Borgata Poker Open series was a tremendous success as Olivier Busquet outlasted over 1,000 other participants to take home the championship. He joined Vivek Rajkumar (2008), Roy Winston (2007), Mark Newhouse (2006), Al Ardebili (2005), Daniel Negreanu (2004) and Noli Francisco (2003) as Borgata Poker Open champions.
