Bodog.com Was Top Dog During First QuarterSite Received More Hits Than Any Other Gambling Site in the Period |

Bodog.com received more Internet search hits than any other gambling site in the first quarter this year, according to Hitwise, a company that tracks these things. During the period between January and March, 2006, Bodog.com ranked first in visits in the Gambling - Sports Betting category against other U.S. facing websites.
According to a press release by the company, Bodog.com has led this category in the past, but this award marks the first time the online gaming giant has been publicly recognized for this achievement by Hitwise.
"We've worked hard to magnify our Internet presence over the last few years, so it is quite an honor to be recognized by a credible third-party site for this specific achievement," says Calvin Ayre, founder and CEO of Bodog.com, in a company release. "With a continued heavy focus on our sports betting channel, coupled with the overall growth in the awareness of the Bodog.com brand, we fully expect to continue to lead the industry in terms of our Internet presence."
Hitwise is an online competitive intelligence service that does daily measures on how more than 25 million Internet users interact with over 500,000 websites across 160 industry categories. The Hitwise Top-10 Awards are presented for each quarter.
