The penultimate stop of season II European Masters of Poker has been won by Matias Knaapinen from Finland.
He took 109 hands to defeat the final table at the €1,000 + €100 buy in event at Gran Casino, Barcelona, Spain, which attracted the largest field for an EMOP event to date, 431 players.
His heads up victory over Dutchman Lennart Konst took 32 hands. The players started almost even in chips before Knaapinen went all in pre-flop with 3-3 and found himself up against Konst’s Q-J suited.
Despite a flush and straight draw materialising on the flop for Konst, Knaapinen dodged all the Dutchman’s outs and took down the €93,000 top prize.
The final table payouts were:
1: Matias Knaapinen (Finland) — €93,000
2: Lennart Konst (Holland) — €56,200
3: Sean Prendiville (Ireland) — €37,150
4: Matti Konttinen (Finland) — €23,320
5: Damir Horozic (Denmark) — €18,570
