2010 Foxwoods World Poker Finals Is Underway$10,000 WPT Main Event Begins Oct. 28 |

The 2010 Foxwoods World Poker Finals began Monday and will continue through November 2 at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut.
Several events in a variety of games are on the schedule leading up to the 6-day World Poker Tour $10,000 no-limit hold’em championship starting on October 28.
Last year’s World Poker Finals saw some of the biggest names in poker take down preliminary events. Carlos Mortenson won the $5,000 no-limit hold’em event for $152,857, Kathy Liebert won the $2,500 no-limit hold’em event for $74,616, and Vanessa Selbst won the $1,500 no-limit hold’em event for $74,224.
The $10,000 WPT no-limit hold’em championship event had 353 entries in 2009, creating a prize pool of $3.3 million. A tough final table featuring the likes of Matt Stout , Eric Froehlich and Lee Markholt was won by Cornel Cimpan for $910,058.
