Matt AffleckDay 2 at the 2010 World Poker Tour Festa al Lago $10,000 no-limit hold’em main event was all about numbers. The number of players in the tournament, and for those players, the number of chips they held at the end of the night, if any at all. The official number of players in the field stood at 335 after registration closed around 5 p.m.

The number of players remaining by the final bell was 99. Fifty of those players will walk away with prize money starting tomorrow. Here is a look at the break down of the payout structure they will be fighting for:

1. $831,500
2. $564,200
3. $344,968
4. $225,680
5. $161,200
6. $112,840
7. $80,600
8. $64,480
9. $57,584
10. $38,682
11-15. $32,240
16-20. $25,792
21-30. $19,344
31-40. $16,120
41-50. $12,896

Some players that won’t be chasing that prize money tomorrow are the professionals that fell during action on the felt on day 2. They included Card Player publisher Jeff Shulman, Howard Lederer, Erik Seidel, Erica Schoenberg, Faraz Jaka, John Juanda, Jennifer Tilly, Jennifer Harman, Joe Sebok, Chris Ferguson, Scotty Nguyen, Vanessa Rousso, Tony Dunst, Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson, and Card Player Player of the Year contenders Sorel Mizzi and Dwyte Pilgrim. Ivey fell when his J-8 suited failed to improve against A-10 suited, and Shulman hit the rail when he called all-in only to find out his opponent had a flopped a straight.

Matt Affleck is at the top of the chip counts with 585,300 but he is trailed closely by Annette Obrestad (536,800). Obrestad was the most active player during the late stages of the tournament today. She climbed to 461,000 when her A-Q topped the A-J of Dan Schiff, and then she eclipsed the 500,000 mark when her 7-3 made a straight against a short-stacked all-in opponent who held A-Q.

Affleck and Obrestad are the only half-millionaires in the tournament field so far and they each enjoy a six-digit buffer over the rest of their adversaries. Owen Crowe clocks in at a distant third with 360,000. The three leaders will be joined by 96 others tomorrow and you can check back at CardPlayer.com for full live reporting from the event and videos from CardPlayer TV.
