“Cowboy” John Land became one of the first eliminations after registration closed here on day 1a. Land’s demise began when Andy Philachack raised to 10,000 from middle position and Jim Wilson called from the cutoff. Land moved all-in for his last 16,000 from the button and Philachack folded his hand. Wilson tanked for a few mments and then called.
The dealer instructed the two men to flip over their hands and Land showed A

We missed the action, but John “Cowboy” Land was no longer in his seat. We were told by another player that he was all in preflop with pocket queens against the other two queens. His opponent four-flushed him and he was eliminated from the tournament.
Late registration/re-entry is still open until the beginning of level 10, so there is time for him to fire another bullet at the event.

Taking Another Shot

With the re-entry format of the event, players who busted yesterday are able to take another shot at the event during today’s flight.
Krista Lowery, John Land, Katherine Bowen, Chris Tryba and Chan Pelton have all been spotted in the field after busting yesterday’s flight. Tyler Morris, who won the WSOP Circuit Main Event in Choctaw last January, has been spotted taking his seat and is firing his first bullet today.
