Shane Schleger Bio
Possibly the best blogger in poker, Shane "shaniac" Schleger has scribed his mark upon the poker world. Often described as manic, the chain smoking Schleger worked his up from low buy-in sit and gos to highest buy-in championship events. The former waiter from New York, holds strong opinions on everything from tournament structures to social policy. He had a cameo in Peter Alson's book, "Take Me to the River," in which he described a conversation they had about online players, "They're the compulsive types," Shane said. "They'll sit there ten hours a day."
"What about you?" I asked. "How many hours are you playing?"
"Probably fifty or sixty hours a week."
"Isn't that close to ten hours a day?"
"Yeah, I guess it is," he said with a laugh.
Schleger has done some damage on the live circuit as well. He finished fourth in the $10,000 buy-in Bellagio Cup III main event, good for $232,490. He also made an ESPN televised final table at the 2007 World Series of Poker. Schleger is currently playing a full schedule of live and online tournaments, expect to see consistent results.
