Hour Two Update
Jul 01, '07
Another Monster Pot
Sam Farha has a talent for creating action. Last hour he was involved in a huge three way pot, and he found himself the catalyst for another this level. With the J 9 5 on the board Farha bet the pot. Jorge Arias went all-in with the J 5 10 7 , for two pair, a club draw and an inside straight draw. Tony Cousineau called all-in with A 8 8 7, for the nut club draw and an inside straight draw. Farha called with the K Q J 10 , for top pair and a wrap draw. The turn brought a blank, the 3 . The river brought the Q , completing both Cousineau and Arias' flush. Cousineau won the main pot with the nuts, and Arias took down the side pot between him and Farha. Farha is left crippled and without an add-on.
Hellmuth Syndrome
Some late arrivals to today's tournament include Gus Hansen, Daniel Negreanu, Thor Hansen, Alex Jacob, Chris Ferguson and Allen Cunningham.
Eliminations
Lyle Berman, Bradley Berman, Men Nguyen and Gavin Griffin all hit the rail early in the day today.
Every Hand
Barry Greenstein asked Phil Ivey if he had been playing every hand, which Ivey allegedly does in pot-limit omaha. Ivey responded that he had played every hand so far except for one that the dealer killed because he was text messaging. The table confirmed to Greenstein that this was not an exaggeration, and that Ivey had literally played every hand.
