Loser's Bracket Final -- Vivek Rajkumar Wins!Feb 24, '10 A quick match just transpired in the loser’s bracket final. Vivek Rajkumar once again jumped out to an early lead when he made a nice call early in the match. Aaron Jones bet 3,700 from the button on a board of A J 9 5 7. The pot already had 6,000 in the pot so Rajkumar was enticed to think about making the call. He eventually did make the call and Jones flipped over K 10. Rajkumar showed down 8 7 and he won the pot to take the chip lead with 26,000. Jones was down to 14,000 and during the next five minutes Rajkumar chipped away at his stack and Jones was down to 10,000. A few minutes after that some fireworks erupted. Jones made it 500 to play preflop and Rajkumar reraised to 1,500. Jones moved all in and Rajkumar made the call. Their cards: Rajkumar: K K Board: 9 6 4 J 3 Rajkumar won the hand and he advances to the overall final in the tournament for the second year in a row. Moore bet 4,700 on the river and Jones made the call. Moore showed down K 9 to defeat the pocket aces of Jones. That took Jones down to 12,500 early and Moore held the lead with 27,500. A few hands later, with a flop of A 8 7 on the board and 3,300 in the pot Jones bet 1,700 and Moore raised to 4,000 from the button. Jones went into the tank and eventually mucked. He now held just 8,000 and needed to double up. That would happen for him a short time later. Moore bet 2,000 preflop and Jones made the call from the button. The flop was dealt 9 8 5 and Moore checked. Jones bet 1,200 and Moore raised to 10,000. Jones called all in and they turned over their cards: Jones: 7 6 Turn and River: J 2 Jones won the hand to double up and the match continued once anew. Jones was able to figth back for a while but his stack began to shrink again. He made his last stand after Moore raised to 1,000 on the button a few minutes later. Jones raised all in for 9,000 total and Moore made the call. Jones held A-3 but Moore had him dominated with A-Q. Jones will have another chance to win the loser’s bracket in the championship match on that side of the format, but even if he wins Moore will be waiting for him in the overall final for the event.
