A Close Call for Hellmuth
With 5 2 3 K out on the board, Phil Hellmuth bet $70,000 and Ut Nguyen made the call. The river brought the 4 and Hellmuth fired out $85,000. Nguyen went into the tank and Nguyen considered what to do with pocket eights in the hole. Hellmuth would have lost the hand if he made the call. Hellmuth had his chin supported by his two fists in the classic Hellmuth pose. Nguyen folded his hand and Hellmuth dodged a bullet.
Hellmuth Takes it to Fuller
With A K 9 10 9 out on the board Hellmuth bet $150,000. Rick Fuller thought about the call for a moment and then folded his hand. These two have been involved in a couple of hands at this final table and Hellmuth has won them all.
-Ut Nguyen was then eliminated in eighth place, scroll down to see the hand.
The players were then sent on a fifteen minute break.
Chatting is Good For Your (Chip Stack) Health
The two most vocal players at the table, Hellmuth and Scott Clements, have also accumulated the most chips at the final table. Often times the two have jawed with each other.
Flop, Re-Flop
The flop was dealt out on the board, but it was called back when it was discovered there was no burn card. The new flop was dealt K 7 5. Morgan Machina looked livid after this took place and he checked. Rick Fuller fired out a bet and Machina folded. “Can we get a new dealer? I mean come on, this is pretty bad,” said Machina furiously after the hand. He was on tilt for a while after the hand, and he continued to shake his head is disgust.
Triples Alley
David Simon was all in with A J and Fabrice Soulier made the call with the Q 4. Phil Hellmuth also called and flipped over A K. The board was dealt 10 5 4 J J and Simon tripled up on the hand. Soulier is crippled after the hand. The two jacks on the turn and river prevented Hellmuth from eliminating two players on one hand.
