Bring On Day TwoJun 07, '07 As the clock struck 2 a.m. tournament officials announced that play would end with 11:10 remaining in level 16. After a ridiculously fast pace to start the day followed by an agonizing two hours on the bubble play has finally ended. There are 61 players returning tomorrow to play down to six.Robert Williamson III was eliminated in the last two levels, but not before cashing in his third event in the 2007 World Series of Poker. Williamson hopes to keep this streak alive in tomorrow's $5,000 Pot Limit Hold 'Em. JC Tran is still high among the chip leader board after another two levels of play. Tran took a small hit when he doubled up another player at his table. The player in seat two bet out $5,300 and Tran called. The flop came 544 and the player in seat two led out with $10,000. Tran made the call and the turn was the 3. Short stacked, the player in seat 2 pushed all in. Tran called and had 73 for a straight draw. His opponent in the two seat showed K4 for trips. The river was the 9 and Tran lost a small fraction of his very large stack. With Cliff "JohnnyBax" Josephy and Amnon Filippi sweating his every move, Eric "Sheets" Haber was able to build a very respectable stack before play ended. With a board of Q85AJ showing, Haber indicated with a wave of his hand that he was all in. The player in seat two took very little time to call and the player in the six seat had a decision for all his chips. Fred Goldberg, seated in the four seat, observed that "there was no betting at all 'til the river. Now we got three guys about to be all in. Ha, it turned into no limit on the river." The player in seat six mucked his cards and said, "there is only one hand that can beat me." Haber showed K10 for broadway and his opponent in seat two turned over 88, having flopped middle set. Haber couldn't believe that his opponent didn't bet the whole way and he was able to see so many free cards. The player in seat six yelled "I knew it" as Haber showed his cards, implying what the table already knew, that he had 10-9. Play will continue tomorrow at 2 p.m. and will continue until there are only six players remaining. JC Tran heads into day two our chip leader and there is no telling how dangerous he can be with the luxury of a large chip stack. Tune back in to CardPlayer.com to see what happens. Player Tags: J.C. Strasser Takes LeadJun 06, '07 Play began after the color up, 10 minutes earlier than the remaining players were told. Most returned to their seats in good time as several announcements were made about the early restart. Michael Binger, however, did not hear the annonuncements, and was livid when he returned to find he had missed 10 minutes of action. This level of play saw the exit of many top pros. Jeff Shulman and Antonio Esfandiari could no longer survive on their short stacks and were knocked out. Amir Vahedi, took one back for the old guard when he was able to make his pocket Aces hold up against Eric “Sheets” Haber’s pocket Queens. Kristy Gazes rode quite a roller coaster. She was crippled down to her last $11,000 after her opponent cracked her pocket At the internet the table the attitude seems very upbeat, despite each of the players trying to ‘stack’ each other. Pokerstars superstar Dario Minieri, the first to win a Porsche Carrera by accumulating 3 million Frequent Player points, was involved in two big hands with online pros. First Dario lost a race to Josh Vanduyn with A-K versus 7-7. Then Dario moved all in after a Todd Witteles raise. Witteles made the call and both players flipped over A-K, and each ended up making two pair, and they chopped the pot. Jason Strasser has quietly crept into the chip lead, continuing his fantastic showing so far at this year’s World Series There are currently 29 players remaining.
