Cocchi On a Roll
Jul 13, '13
Daniele Cocchi is one of the chip leaders and he just took another pot down versus Philipp Gruissem. Cocchi limped preflop after which Gruissem called in position and the button raised to 750. The big blind called, Cocchi did and Gruissem followed suit.
The flop brought Q52 and all four players checked.
On the turn the 2 hit and the big blind checked to Cocchi who fired out 2,000. Guissem called and the other two players folded.
On the river the 5 hit and Cocchi bet 2,000. Gruissem paused and raised it up to 8,000. Cocchi wasted no time and three-bet to 19,000 after which Gruissem folded immediately.
David Sands burst out in laughter and said, “I expected you to do that,” while looking at Gruissem, “But I definitely did not think he would do that,” he added while he looked at Cocchi.
“I would’ve been so disappointed if you hadn’t raised there,” Sands added as Gruissem started laughing as well. Gruissem has 22,000 chips left while Cocchi is now sitting on 67,000.

Gruissem Gets Value
Jul 13, '13
With a board of Q10582, German high-roller extraordinaire Phillip Gruissem bet 4,500 in position after being checked to. His lone opponent made the call, but mucked after Gruissem flipped up the 108 for two pair.
Gruissem raked in the pot and increased his stack to 32,000. Gruissem will be looking to add to his $5.1 million in live tournament earnings with a deep run in this event.

Boom Boom Gruissem
Jul 15, '13
“Boom boom,” David Sands said after we asked Philipp Gruissem what happened to him.
“Yeah, just write that down. Boom, boom,” Gruissem said as he was clearly not happy with the way he busted out.
“And Anton is out,” Sands said about Anton Morgenstern busting out of the WSOP Main Event, “So it’s actually boom, boom, boom.”
The players were laughing, but it was clear that Gruissem was far from happy with his bust out and the one of his German friend who started the day as the chip leader with just 27 players remaining in the WSOP main event.
