Cards were quickly in the air as multiple pros filtered in alongside the regulars and familiar faces. Local regulars Gary Bodley, Georgia Felger and Tyler Denson took their seats along side WSOP bracelet winners Chance Kornuth and Brian Hastings, WPT champion and former November Niner Chino Rheem, former Full Tilt Red Pro Stuart Patterson, Seminole Hard Rock $10 million guarantee and WPT Montreal final tablist Mukul Pahuja, 2009 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure main event winner Harrison Gimbel, Darryll Fish, Eric Blair and Nancy Todd. Miles, Rem Remington, Maurice Hawkins, Stephen Bokor and Evan Teitelbaum A grand total of 161 entries were put up on Day 1A, making up a little over 64 percent of the guaranteed prize pool. Only 89 players are needed on Day 1B to make the guarantee, a number that is likely to be met and exceeded. After 15 40-minute levels chips were bagged for the night with 37 players moving on to Day 2. But it was Rheem who ended the night with the most chips, bagging up a massive stack of 398,100. Rheem steadily chipped up throughout the day but the bulk of his chips came from a single hand involving a pair of threes late in the day. Rheem opened to about 3,200 and a second player three bet to 11,000, a third player called. Rheem four-bet to 150,000 to put both players all in, the player who three-bet released. The final player in the hand went into the tank before calling off his final 110,000. Rheem showed two red threes and his opponent turned over K-10 of spades. A flop of Q J 6 gave Rheem’s opponent an astounding 21 outs, the two-time WPT champion managed to stay ahead after the 5 on the turn and take the pot when the J fell on the river. After the hand, Rheem was up to about 350,000 and far ahead of the rest of the 41 players who remained at the time. A few hands later Rheem was up to about 400,000. Players for Day 1B will take their seats at 12pm EST Saturday.
