Good Call By Uzan
Jul 15, '13
Patrick Uzan and Mike Hack just played a big pot, which was won by the former after making a tough call.
The board read 10J52 when Uzan bet 5,600 and Govert Metaal called. Hack raised from late position to 15,000 and only Uzan called.
On the river the 10 hit and Uzan checked to Hack who bet 20,000. Uzan tanked for a long time, but in the end he decided that folding was not an option.
“Good call,” Hack said as he sheepishly turned over his AK.
Uzan showed QJ and raked in this pot to boost his stack up to 180,000 chips. Hack still has more as he’s sitting on 186,000.

Jul 15, '13
“It’s awfully early for this, wouldn’t you say?” Dan O’Brien asked Patrick Uzan who had just put him to the test.
Uzan did not respond verbally but smiled as O’Brien tanked some more.
“I got a pretty good hand, obviously.”
After grabbing his stacks a few times without moving all in he finally decided to go with it. Later we found out that the action went as following.
After a raise to 1,600 it was Uzan who three-bet to 4,450 in late position. O’Brien four-bet from the small blind to 11,800 and the initial raiser folded. Uzan proceeded to put O’Brien all in for 47,825 total and eventually we got the see this showdown.
O’Brien turned over AK and was up against QQ.
The board ran out K10774 and O’Brien doubled to around 100,000 chips. Uzan was left behind with around 60,000 chips.
