Big Hands:
Lawson Takes 3/4 After Flopping the Nuts
Ted Lawson raised from late position and was re-raised by the small blind. Lawson made the call and they took the flop heads up. The flop was Q89 and they got in four bets. The turn was the 7 and Lawson called a bet. The river was the 4 and Lawson called the last bet and said “I think we have the same hand, I have a straight.”
Lawson turned over the A 3 J 10 and his opponent turned over the A A J 10. Lawson’s A 3 was good enough for the low half of the pot and they split the high half.
Jamie Pickering Scoops One off Josh Arieh
We pick up the action five-handed on a flop of 876. Josh Arieh leads out for 2000 from the blind and is called by Jamie Pickering. The turn is the 6 and Arieh bets 4000 and is again called by Pickering. Arieh fires the river, which was the 5 and Pickering calls one last time.
Pickering shows the A853, good for a rivered flush and the second nut low. Arieh mucks his hand.
Leonidas and Ivey Chop One Up
After a raise and three calls preflop, we pick up the action on a four-handed flop of J98.
Josh Arieh bet out 2000 and was raised by Toto Leonidas. Leonidas was then raised to 6000 by Phil Ivey. Arieh got out of the way and Leonidas made the call. The turn was the 6 and the river was the 3 and Leonidas checked and called 4000 on each street.
Ivey showed the KQJ10, which was good for runner-runner flush after flopping the nut straight. Leonidas showed the 88A4, which was good for a set of eights and qualifying low hand, which got him half of the pot.

Last Laugh for Dwan
Jan 24, '09
The last hand of the night saw a flop of KQ3 hit the table with Tom Dwan, Jamie Pickering, and Phil Laak all limping in preflop. Dwan bet $3,400 from the button, Pickering mucked in the small blind, and Laak made the call from the big blind. The turn fell 4 and Laak checked. Dwan bet $8,800 and Laak made the call. The river fell 2 and Laak checked again. Dwan bet $62,200 and Laak went into the tank. After agonizing about the decision Laak made the call and Dwan turned over 86 to win the hand with a flush.
After the hand the players began to bag up their chips. Laak returned the $200,000 he borrowed from Dwan after the Unabomber hit the felt earlier. He was left with $15,000 in his stack after that. He was stuck $185,000.

$10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha - Level 17 - The Stalling is Over
Jun 30, '08
Blinds: 4,000-8,000
Players Remaining: 27 of 381
Average Chip Stack: 282,000
Chip Leaders:
Josh Arieh - 645,000
Kenneth Matsson - 510,000
Kido Pham - 450,000
Michael Mizrachi - 430,000
Brandon Moran - 360,000
Eliminations:
The following players received $25,069:
Nikolay Evdakov - 28th place
Robin Larsson - 29th place
Vegard Nygaard - 30th place
Hands and Storylines:
Evdakov stalls (again), exits on money bubble
Nikolay Evdakov was again causing problems with his extremely deliberate play. Players at his table and other tables were complaining, and a tournament director told him to act more quickly or face a clock every hand. Then, after Brandon Moran had raised to 20,000, Evdakov decided to risk his remaining chips and move all in for just 32,000 more. Moran knew he wasn't in a good spot but had to call.
Evdakov: AAKJ
Moran: QQJ9
Board: Q4258
When Evdakov showed his hand, many others were incredulous, unable to understand why he'd take so long to make the obvious all in move. So when Moran sucked out, they were all ecstatic.
Matsson bests Pickering's monster draw
After a flop of A85 Kenneth Matsson moved all in and Jamie Pickering was right there with him after a series of back-and-forth raises.
Matsson: AK65
Pickering: 9876
A five came on the turn to give Matsson a full house and the pot of over 500,000 chips. Pickering, meanwhile, dropped all the way to 130,000 chips.
Pham "catches" Benefield
With the board 85452, David Benefield bet 36,000 and was raised to 96,000 by Kido Pham. Benefield thought it over for a minute before folding his hand. As he folded Pham told him, "I catch you stealing." Benefield shook his head and said he was value-betting. Pham has over 600,000 chips to end the level, while Benefield has around 300,000 chips.

Big Hands:
Negreanu Stares Down Chan
Five players limped into the pot for 12,000 and saw the flop come Q102. Negreanu led out for 30,000 from the big blind and play was folded to Johnny Chan on the button, who made the call. The 7 came on the turn and Negreanu bet 100,000 in chips. The stoic Chan deliberated, then made the call again. The A on the river brought the backdoor flush into play and Negreanu bet 180,000 in chips. Chan again contemplated, but elected to fold and Negreanu scooped the pot.
Negreanu was the big bettor in an earlier pot with Paul Galfond. After the board ran out 88775, Galfond bet 62,000 on the river and Negreanu then check-raised for 200,000 more. Galfond made the fold and Negreanu insisted that a straight was good though didn't show his cards.
Pickering Busted
Alexander Kostritsyn eliminated Jamie Pickering in 13th place when his KJ107 was good for two pair on a board of KQ1043.
Hellmuth Keeps Hanging On
Phil Hellmuth was down to his final 28,000 in chips and moved all-in from the button, drawing calls from John Juanda in the small blind and David Benyamine in the big blind. The flop came A107. Juanda and Benyamine checked and the turn was the 2. Both players again checked and the river was the K. Both players checked and Hellmuth collected the pot with the nut flush, holding AK86.
A few hands later Hellmuth limped from the cut-off as did John Juanda from the button. The flop came 852. After the blinds checked, Hellmuth bet 60,000 and took the pot down.

From that point on, all three players went all-in, with Cox having the others covered. Pescatori, the short-stack of the three, had about 35,000 in chips and held top set with the QQ108. Cox matched the 44,000 of Natte with the AA96. Natte was reduced to bottom set with the 5522. The 4 came on the turn, which became relevant when the 3 hit the river.
