Derrick Mokedi and an opponent looked down at a board of Q9K3. Mokedi was first to act and he reached for chips. Mokedi moved 6,000 past the betting line and his opponent quickly called to see a river.
The dealer produced the 10 to complete the board, prompting a check from Mokedi. His opponent fired 11,300, sending Mokedi deep into the tank. After roughly 90 seconds, Mokedi flung forward calling chips. His opponent rolled over AJ for a Broadway straight to take down the pot.

Mokedi Shows The Bluff

With a flop of QJ8 and plenty of chips already in the pot Michael Dollins, who finished 19th in the CPPT main event at the Bike earlier this month, checked.
Derrick Mokedi then cut out a bet of 7,000 and fired it into the pot.
Dollins made the call and the turn brought the 2. Dollins checked again and Mokedi also checked.
The river brought the 10 and Dollins checked again. Mokedi thought it over for a second before announcing that he was all-in.
Dollins made the fold and Mokedi flipped up the 66 for a bluff as he raked in the chips.

Mokedi and Mizelle both called and the dealer burned and fanned a A95 flop. Action checked around to the button and he bet 3,000. The big blind folded and Derrick called. Mizelle let go of his hand as well and the turn was the J. Mokedi check-called a bet of 7,000 to see the K on the river. Both players checked and the hands were revealed.

Derrick Mokedi Joins The Field

Derrick Mokedi was one of three players to be eliminated on the bubble in the Card Player Poker Tour main event last week at the Bike, chopping the min-cash three ways.
Mokedi was near the top of the leaderboard late in that event and is definitely a threat to make another deep run here at the CPPT main event of the Westide Poker Championship.

With a flop of KJ8 a player bet 5,000 and Derrick Mokedi raised to 15,000. Oliver Li made the call and the initial bettor folded.
The turn brought the 7 and Mokedi went into the tank for quite a while before moving all-in. Li quickly called and flipped over the A4 for the nut flush. Mokedi had also flopped a flush with the 95 but was drawing dead already on the turn.
