Adam Volen
Adam Volen bested a field of 307 entrants to win the Card Player Poker Tour Hollywood Park National Championship of Poker Main Event. After four days of action, Volen left with $40,000 and the title of CPPT Champion.
This was Volen’s second CPPT main event final table. The California pro finished fourth in the 2014 CPPT Bicycle Casino main event for $43,155, his largest live cash to date. With $40,000 from the HPC main event win, Volen now has nearly $170,000 in live tournament earnings.
The tournament seemed to go Volen’s way from start to finish. Volen bagged a massive chiplead on Day 1A and held it as the final day of play began. Volen again had the chip lead when the final table began and never lost it.
Volen secured the final knockout of the day when he had over eight million in chips to runner-up Frank Lin’s roughly 1.2 million. Lin moved all in with Q

. A board of 6227A crowned Volen the latest winner on the CPPT.
This was the CPPT’s second time at Hollywood Park Casino, with the first event being held one year ago nearly to the date.
