Tom McCormick Eliminated By Trevor PopeMar 19, '13 On a flop of KJ8 Tom McCormick moved all-in with the KJ and Trevor Pope called with the 109 for the open-ended straight-flush draw. The turn brought the 4 and the river the 2, sending McCormack to the rail while Pope climbed to 90,000 in chips. Player Tags: Tom McCormick, Trevor Pope Yazdi's Queens Best PopeMar 18, '13 David Williams raises to 600 from middle position, Ardavan Yazdi calls from the cutoff and Trevor Pope calls from the button. After a flop of J108 Williams and Yazdi check. Pope bets 900 and Williams folds. Yazdi calls and the two see the Q open on the turn. Both players check again and the river is the 2. Both players check again and Yazdi shows AQ for a pair of Queens. Pope does not reveal his hand. Player Tags: Ardavan Yazdi, Trevor Pope Trevor Pope Eliminated By Cary KatzMar 19, '13 All of the money went in preflop with Trevor Pope holding the 88 and Cary Katz the AK for a classic preflop race. Katz was behind but caught up on the river when the board ran out QJ53K. With that Pope was eliminated from the event, while Katz grew his stack to around 200,000. Player Tags: Cary Katz, Trevor Pope Trevor Pope Folds Aces FullMar 19, '13 Picking up action on the turn with a board of AJJQ, James McCarrel checked and Trevor Pope bet 14,300. After some consideration, McCarrel called and the river brought the J. McCarrell once again took his time before sliding out a stack of pink 5,000 chips, seemingly equal to the majority if not all of Pope’s stack. Before the exact size of the bet could be determined, Pope frustratedly mucked the AA face up. As McCarrell raked in the sizable pot, table mate Cary Katz said, “You’ve got to show it. He showed the greatest laydown ever!”

Topics of discussion have included Wright and Katz swapping clothing styles among other things. Down to just over 28,000 Wright took a look at one of his cards and saw it to be the K. Pope had raised to 2,500 from the cutoff, Tran called from the button, Katz called from the small blind and Weight moved all-in from the big blind. “I only looked at one card,” Wright told his table. But Pope, Tran and Katz decided that moment was not the time to call Wright’s all in and folded their hands. “Let’s see what the other card was,” Pope said as wright moved his chips back across the betting ling. Without looking Wright flashed his other hole card to the table, the K. “I didn’t look at it,” Wright told the table of his pocket Kings and then proceeded to fist bump Katz. The entire table appears to have a good time. Player Tags: Larry Wright, Jimmy Tran, Cary Katz, Tim West, Trevor Pope, Hyoung Chae |
